Crop production

field2

Our company has an experienced team of eight agronomists, with a wealth of agricultural knowledge between them. Each agronomist is able to plan crop rotations and input regimes, suited to individual customer needs.

This is achieved through the use of a diverse range of products, meaning that we ensure that each customer can maximise their financial returns on each and every crop.

BCW’s team of dedicated staff are all BASIS, FACTS and Beta qualified trained, and we place significant emphasis on continued training and updates relating to matters such as NVZ and manure management. Moreover they understand the demands and requirements of the ever changing agricultural climate and are adaptable and happy to respond to the changing nature of their customers business.

The team uses the Cropwalker computer package, to provide tailored Agrochemical report sheets for our customers. The program gives assistance with all stages of the crop production cycle, helping to give a carefully planned approach for the customer to follow.

Each member of the team has an area of expertise; this is then combined with regular team meetings to ensure that crop management issues are shared. We believe the result of this is a knowledgeable, up to date and friendly team, keen to work with you.

As a member of the national buying group ‘CREST,’ we are able to source products at highly competitive rates and can be certain that we will always have access to the very latest technologies most suited to meet the needs of modern crop production.

Animal Health

cowsOur Team has a depth of Agricultural background having either grown up on mixed farms, have been farm managers or indeed owned their own dairy unit. This gives us a great “hands on” understanding of the needs of the livestock industry and enables the exchange of practical knowledge and training within our team. We are members of the national buying group DOWNLAND, which enables us to provide an excellent range of high quality products at competitive prices. We stock anthelmintics and vaccines, dairy hygiene products, cubicle dressings, ear tags and animal nutrition products to name but a few.

Seed

Cereals and Wholecropfield2

We are delighted to have been chosen as a distributor for the leading Cereal seed breeder Nickersons. This enables us to provide wheat and barley seed of the highest quality dressed as appropriate for our customer needs. We are also specialist for wholecrop forage seeds and agronomy including wheat, barley, peas, lupin, triticale and more.

Oilseed Rape

So much more than just a break crop, BCW is proud to be working in close partnership with leading breeding companies such as DeKalb and Pioneer. This enables us to be at the leading edge when it comes to understanding new innovations such as the low biomass hybrids and how best to position them for maximum return on farm.

Maize

maize01

We have considerable expertise in the maize crop. Again, we work closely with the leading R&D breeding companies Limagrain, Syngenta and Pioneer and are therefore able to provide a range of the latest varieties to suit all situations where maize can be grown. From Seed to Feed we can provide all the necessary advice for both present and aspiring maize growers, tailoring the variety best suited to each customers soil type and forage needs.

Crimp Maize

Crimped Gold is fermented crimped maize grain, with excellent feeding values. It can lift milk and meat yields to much higher levels than feeding other concentrate feeds, primarily due to its unique high levels of bypass starch and digestible energy. We offer grower and feed contracts for this highly valuable feed.
